Sandylands most important dogs of the last decade.
Richard Edwards
Sandylands Rae was mated to Ch Trenow Brigadier to produce two very pleasing creams in the
CC winning dog Sandylands Broom (b. 11.9.90) and his lovely sister Sh. Ch. Sandylands Bliss. Bliss was one of the best
show Labradors of the middle 1990's with quality, style and finish such as Sh. Ch. Sandylands Mercy and Sh. Ch. Sandylands
Busy Liz. Bliss's untimely early death was a terrible blow to the Sandylands kennel.... In all, Bliss won 6 CCs in 1992.
After producing the litter to Ransom that was so productive for Sandylands, Bramble was mated
to Ch. Kupros Master Mariner and they produced a black dog in Ch. Sandylands My Guy (b. 3.11.87). Guy's pedigree contains
much Ballyduff, indeed more Ballyduff than had been found at Sandylands before. Guy took his type from the Ballyduffs,
he was masculine without being overdone, he was compact and all in one piece, at times he carried a very heavy coat that is
not always an asset to a show Labrador. Guy was a later maturing dog and looked his best in middle age. Guy completed
his title in 1992. He later qualified.'
Bliss was mated to My Guy to produce the yellow brother and sister, Sh. Ch. Sandylands Gadabout
and Sh. Ch. Sandylands Gracia (b.6.11.94) - Mrs Broadley's last champions.
